Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is core to Sanofi’s business as a healthcare leader in Canada. Our community activities, often enhanced by the direct involvement of our employees, support research, promote health and well-being, and create public awareness of disease prevention and treatment.

Over 50 employees participate in Moisson Laval’s holiday food drive

Moisson Laval welcomed over 50 people from Sanofi Canada on December 16. They brought nonperishable food items and books, packed Christmas baskets and lent a hand packing goods in trucks.

This was the third year that Sanofi Canada participated in the Christmas basket campaign, due in part to the overwhelming demand of employees. Employees lent a helping hand for a full day, alternating between morning and afternoon shifts. Sanofi Canada President and CEO, Jon Fairest, also lent his support during the day.


Sanofi donates to Centraide

Warehouse sale nets nets $12K for Centraide

Sanofi Canada's Supply Chain and Consumer Health teams raised more than $12,000 for Centraide with their second-ever warehouse sale, held at the company's distribution centre in November 2014.


Sanofi Canada supports PROCURE’s “Bowvember”

Sanofi Canada's Executive Committee team members are getting ready for Bowvember, a new social movement launched by PROCURE to increase awareness about prostate cancer.

This year, Luko Marion designed the snazzy bowties and popular Quebec personality Jean Pagé is the campaign’s spokesperson. Sanofi Canada is proud to support the initiative alongside the campaign’s official ambassadors, Brandon Prust from the Montreal Canadiens, Ignacio Piatti of the Montreal Impact and Marc-Olivier Brouillette of the Montreal Alouettes. Sanofi employees join Rx&D and Habitat for Humanity in Calgary home build

Sanofi employees traded their business wear for construction gear on Oct. 7, 2014, in Calgary when they joined an Rx&D crew helping Habitat for Humanity build a home for a local family.

Rx&D, the association of Canada's research-based pharmaceutical companies, partnered with Habitat for Humanity on four housing builds in October – in Calgary, Vancouver, Montreal and Halifax – as part of its commitment to help Canadians beyond the development of new and innovative medicines.

 

Sanofi team gives the gift of life

Several people representing Sanofi gave the gift of life at the the 41st edition of the Laval Blood Donor Clinic on Sept. 5.


Sanofi cycles to fight prostate cancer

Sanofi Canada’s hardiest cyclists turned out for PROCURE’s Tour de Courage on the weekend of June 14, 2014. The entire event raised $314,000 for prostate cancer research and awareness, to which our own team contributed $7,950.


Sunlife and Sanofi rally cyclists on behalf of Diabète Québec and CDA

Sanofi Canada joined Sunlife Financial in supporting an elite, five-day cycling event to raise money for Diabète Québec and the Canadian Diabetes Association. The entire journey stretched 800 km from Peterborough to Chicoutimi and ended on June 27, 2014. Some of Sanofi’s most seasoned cyclists joined the tour when it passed through their region.

 

Allerject™ and Tim Horton Children’s Foundation renew their partnership

Sanofi Canada is pleased to announce that it has renewed its partnership with the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation (THCF) and will once again be providing Allerject™ to the Foundation’s camps in 2014.

Sanofi Canada contributed 80 Allerject™ in 2013 – and will be doing so again this year – so that kids at risk of anaphylaxis will have access to the latest emergency treatment option in the event of a severe allergic reaction while at camp. In addition, Sanofi Canada is providing training materials for camp staff.

 

Consumer Unit's warehouse sale lends a hand to Centraide

Sanofi Canada's Distribution and Supply Chain team held its first ever warehouse sale of Sanofi Consumer Health products in June 2014, with fantastic results! The sale attracted some 190 customers and raised $10,000 for Centraide.


The West walks for JDRF

On June 8, 2014, Sanofi employees, family and friends in Regina and Edmonton joined the Telus Walk to Cure Diabetes on behalf of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Combined with matching funds from Sanofi Canada, the walkers raised more than $5900 for this very worthy cause.


Olé! Sanofi employee crosses the finish line for Team Diabetes in Madrid

Sanofi Canada employee Bill Gowen has once more crossed the finish line on behalf of Team Diabetes, this time at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon in Madrid on April 27, 2014. Bill and his 35 teammates raised close to $250,000 for Canadian Diabetes Association programs and services.

Bill has run over a dozen marathons in support of the CDA, who honoured him with a national volunteer award in 2013.
